Alton, Mo and the surrounding area has had a producer from Country Music Television (CMT), come and look at our town as one of 5 possible place to film a reality show in the works. Travis Draft of CMT and Edd Hatten Oregon County Economic Development Director went around to various spots in the County to look at the possibilities. The four other places that Travis is looking at are Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas. click on picture for better look Interviewing Mary Ann Holman	Travis and Edd had a meeting at the Senior Citizens Center in Alton. There were several long time residents that gave interviews, to state the case why CMT should pick Alton, also what was great about their Town. Being at the meeting you realize what drew you to Alton, was the people. Here are a couple of different pictures of Travis Draft & Edd Hatten. Picture of Tom Young Alton Fire Chief (l) & Edgar Wilson of BB Road Fire Chief (r) Click on Pictures to get a better look	Alton Fire Department has received a very special gift that will be used in auto rescues, better known as the "Jaws of Life." This came about in a joint effort between Alton Fire Department and 'BB' Road Fire Department, who owns this set of "Jaws of Life." BB Road Fire Dept. felt this tool could better serve the county in a fire dept more centrally located. They chose Alton's Fire Dept. because of the close working relationship between them. BB Road had received this gift about two years ago, and both departments have received training on it, but because of the location of their fire department, they were not always able to respond in a time of need. It is there hope that this tool will be used to help rescues where someone is trapped and that being located in the center of the county, will make it more available.
