The Avant Browser
We have been testing this
Browser for sometime. This browser has a pop-up killer this is a great
feature. You can customize the to the way you want it. It is a
supplemental Browser to Internet Explorer. At first it seemed as though
it took up most of the screen but with customizing and the F11 key for
full screen you won't notice screen size. You will be happy with the POP
up killer though.
If Your Computer is running slow try
deleting some of your temporary internet files.
Here is what you need to do if you
have Windows 95 or 98.
On your desktop, find the Internet
Explorer Icon either the "World with a Spyglass or
the big "e" right click with your mouse scroll down and click on "Properties"
go to Temporary Internet files, click on "settings,"
then click on "View Files" this will
open up all your "Temporary Files."
Click on "Edit" then "Select
All." Then Click on "File"
then to "Delete."
This may take some time depending on the amount
of files that you have. If you are asked to Delete your "Cookies"
press "Yes." Windows 98 users can
Click on "Start" "Programs" "Accessories"
"System Tools" then "Maintenance
Wizard" and follow the instructions, you can setup
a schedule that will keep your computer clean.
If you will do this at least twice a month this
will help keep your computer and Internet running smoothly.
Click on the Email you want to block out or send directly to the
Deleted Items folder.
When it opens up (make sure that it has no Attachment to it)
Then go to where the Subject is. Highlight the part of the subject
you want to screen.
(i.e.… Spam score High).
Go to
Tools, Message Rules, Mail and click.
A New Mail Rule Window pops up with with 3 sections
1.Select your condition...Select the sentence that you want (i.e.…Where the Subject contains...)
2. Select the Actions for your Rule... Pick a folder or Delete it
3. Rule Description
(contains specific words) click on this and a new window pops
open.
Paste the word that you copied from subject line (i.e.…Spam score
High)
then click Add button
The next time something come in to Outlook Express that has Spam score
High, in the subject line it will be directed to the folder you
selected
(i.e.…Deleted Items Folder)
Q: When I use Disk Defragmenter stays on 10% for 3 or 4
hours, What's wrong?
A: Some programs are stopping this operation, try
restarting your machine in the "Safe" mode, to
do this restart and while it is booting up "tap"
the "F8" key (this might take a couple of tries).
When your screen shows the word "Safe" in all
four corners of your screen, click on "Start/Programs/Accessories/System
Tools" and then on "Disk Defragmenter".
After defrag completes, go through the normal
shutdown and restart your computer, the next time the
Defragmenter should work correctly.
A: There are several reasons for poor performance, out
dated modem Drivers is the most common,
phone lines and distance from the server play a part also.
In some cases the modem is not compatibles with the serve.
